As an unfailing discussed topics in the history of the philosophy of education, John Dewey's (1859--1952) philosophy of education is the topic of zeitgeist. Based on the former researcher, this thesis aimed at thinking John Dewey's philosophy of education deeply, probing into its social connotation, exploring both the theoretical and realistic influence in the research of the philosophy of education and the educational practice.The first part depicts the theoretical and realistic significance of the research. Education is one kind of social phenomenon. Philosophy of education not only is the reflection and the refraction of the social philosophy, but also is the approach of the latter. Therefore, we can say Dewey researched the philosophy of education from the social perspectives. It is important that research Dewey's social perspectives both to the theoretical research in the philosophy and practical research in the education life.The second part analyses Dewey's philosophy of education ideas, explores his social perspectives. The social perspectives of his thoughts such as: the philosophy of education based on the realistic society, Dewey's world was the multicultural world with huge social changes. Animadverted on the traditional education, Dewey formulated his pragmatism philosophy of education thoughts; Dewey insisted on the combination of education and society, believed that education life is one kind of social life, life is the process of developing and growing continuously, so education is the construction and reconstruction of the experience, education means growth. School is primarily a special social institution; The purpose of the Dewey's philosophy of education is construct a real democratic society, according to Dewey, society is the"great community"which based on the associating nature, democracy is the life style of both individual and society, the primarily character of the democratic society is: individuality,liberty,equality and philanthropism.The third part illustrates the inspirations of the Dewey's social perspectives in philosophy of education. Firstly, the social perspectives of philosophy of education should widen. Secondly, the philosophy of education should research the educational problems deeply,should explore,criticize and rethink the educational experience profoundly,make the connection between the educational life and other social life. Thirdly, educational life should accommodate to social life and children's life. Fourthly, education should concentrate efforts on to structuring democratic harmonious society. Harmonious society is that every aspect relation is harmonious, develops equally,impartial liberty,runs fine people-oriented society. The education is the powerful means to construct harmonious society. It is the basic element,realize approach of the harmonious society. It is important to construct the harmonious education, promote the people's all-round harmonious development, students are the future and the hope in harmonious society.The fourth part summarizes the research. The thesis explores the social perspectives of Dewey's philosophy of education so deeply that to understanding the philosophy of education, then widen the research visual threshold; try my best to thinking and understanding the present educational problems; Finally, use Dewey's"ideal society"thought for reference to construct harmonious society in our country , educating should bring the effect in constructing harmonious society into play actively.
