The New Life Movement started on the February 19th, 1934, and ended in 1949.This movement, which was lasted longest in the period of Nan Jing Kuomintang, played an important role in the history of the old China and the history of the Chinese Kuomintang.This essay, whose research object is the development of the New Life Movement and the contemporary sports, tries to examine the New Life Movement in a new way and reveals the social motivation under the contemporary sports phenomenon. The research concerns that the Militarize of this movement strengthens the thought of Military sports in modern times, which refers to some important people's viewpoints,the relevant law and regulations, the military training and the course. The advocation of the Entertainment reasonable and legitimate in the New Life Movement expanded the field of the modern sports. The New Life Movement push forward the developing and spreading of the modern sports, especially on cultivating the citizens'health concepts and better entertainment ways, establishing the sports organizations, and training the sports talented person. However, there were also some defects in the New Life Movement, which were lack of funds, the places, the time, and the talents. Moreover, the New Life Movement didn't reach its expectable target, because of its excessive emphasis on militarize.
