Compensation is one of the core issues of labor market and human resource management. It concerns many respects such as employees, employers, market, society, government, etc, and has great impact on both macro economy and micro economy. A reasonable and effective compensation system can not only motivate employees to realize an organization's objectives and increase an organization's efficiency, but also attract and retain high-qualified and competitive employees with the development of knowledge economy in which the competition of talents is becoming more intense.S Institute is one of the Sino-Foreign Cooperative Higher Educational Institutes set up in 1998. With its eight years'growth, the disadvantage of its compensation system comes out gradually. This thesis regards S Institute as an object of study. Starting with the basic compensation theory, Major problems in original compensation system are deeply analyzed. It also points out the necessity of reforming the current compensation system with the human resource in the management environment for the present. Then, a scheme of point-compensation system as a main body is designed on the base of job value evaluation with quantitative and qualitative analysis in terms of S Institute's human resource strategic objective. At last, using the mature compensation theory, a compensation management system is designed which matches the characteristic of education industry and S Institute's organization. Also, the effectiveness of the compensation system is analyzed and concluded. The concrete approach of handling job value evaluation and the design of compensation-point system is emphatically dissected in this thesis. It tries to put forward an idea of compensation design for Sino-Foreign Cooperative Higher Educational Institutes in China. In order to ensure that the new compensation system proceeds smoothly, it is suggested that S Institute must establish scientific and reasonable measures in response to compensation system reform; On the other hand, an effectual communication system with the employees must be set up.
