In order to find out the law of the change of body-building athletes' body composition, the thesis discusses changes of body composition of Chinese outstanding body-building athletes, features of body composition of Chinese national body-building training team members according to their levels and results by means of mathematical statistics, literature searching, expert interviews, body composition measurements, observation, case studies, logical analysis. This study takes Chinese outstanding bodybuilding athletes participating in 1999 National Body-building Championship (48 athletes), 2000 National Body-building Championship (60 athletes) and 2001 National Body-building Championship (130 athletes) as the object. From this thesis it is concluded as follows:1. From 1999 to 2004, the fat percentage of Chinese outstanding male athletes has reduced gradually. The body fat percentage of athletes in 2006 World Bodybuilding Championship is lower than that of athletes in World Bodybuilding Championships from1999 to 2004.2. The body fat percentage of Chinese outstanding athletes in 2004 National Body-building Championship is 10.57%±1.47%.3. The body fat percentage, fat weight, fat free mass, fat free weight/body weight and fat free weight/height of Chinese outstanding body-building athletes increase with rankings of athletes in championships. Besides, these indexes indicate a high degree of correlation with rankings in the competition. The correlation coefficients are: r1=0.978 (p<0.05); r2=0.838 (p<0.05); r3=0.982 (p<0.05); r4;=0.662 (p<0.05); r5=0.978 (p<0.05).4. The height, body fat percentage, fat free mass, fat weight/height of Chinese outstanding bodybuilding athletes increase with the level of competition. Correlation coefficients are r1=0.729, r2=0.37, r3=0.913, r4=0.827. Fat free weight/ body weight also has a correlation with the level of competition, decreasing with the increase of the level. The correlation coefficient is r=-0.370. Great-level athletes', middle-level athletes' and small-level athletes' fat free weight, fat free weight/height is different from each other greatly (p<0.05). As far as body fat percentage is concerned, the body fat percentage of great-level athletes or middle-level athletes greatly differs from that of small-level athletes (p<0.05), however, there is no significant difference between the body fat percentage of great-level athletes and that of middle-level athletes (p=0.058>0.05).5. As far as physical density is concerned, there is significant differences between the body fat percentage and fat free weight/ body weight of champions of National Bodybuilding Championships and those of members of Chinese national team (p<0.05). Comparing with members of Chinese national team, Qian Jiecheng is excellent in many indexes such as moisture content, mineral content, weight and resistance.6. Comparing with the fat weight of boxing, Judo, wrestling, taekwondo athletes, bodybuilding athletes' fat weight (8.38) is lower, while their fat free weight (66.64) and fat free weight/height (39.6) are higher. The index of fat weight/body weight occupies the third place.
