Using methods of literature, expert consulting, logical analysis, statistics and comparation, this paper reserched the data of passing of the top 8 teams in the 18th world cup, analysed the features of the data and factors that effect it, therefor, we get the following conclusion.1.The amount of passes of the top 8 teams is 443 times, much more than the last world cup game; the everage number of passes of each team in one game in the group stage is more than the number in the knock-out stage. The most efficient of passes took place in the midfield, then the defensing third and the attacking third the last. Short pass is mostly used and is the most efficient way of passing.2.The number of pass of each team depends on the different styles of the team. The european teams have the most while the latin Amarican teams have the least. The teams choose different cross passing according to the situation in the games. The cross pass to center of the penalty box caused most scores in this game and the low and fast pass is the ideal way of cross pass.3.The quantity and quality of threatening pass determine whether the team can win the game; the threatening pass and scores took place in the middle of the attacking third most; the proper through pass increase the difficulty of the deffense of the opponent and creat more time and space for the attacking side; place kick (free-kicks in the up field and corners) is one of the important ways of threatening pass.4.Among all the 74 goals scored by the top 8 teams in the 18th world cup, the quantity of scores through 5 passes is more than the scores through 6 or more passes.
