Previous researches have shown that affective factors have great influence on students'learning activities, and using good affective strategies is of great help to improve students' study. Under the influence of examination-oriented education, however, there still exists ,in many areas, the unbalance of teaching between cognition and emotion ,which has greatly held back teaching potentiality and the overall development of students' quality. Therefore, we should pay more attention to it and study it more. Affective strategies refer to those involved in regulation and control of such affective factors as students' motives, interests, attitudes, confidence and will.On the basis of affective teaching psychology, this thesis investigates affective teaching strategies that optimize senior high school mathematics teaching from four aspects teaching contents, teaching organization, teaching evaluation, and teaching environment. In addition, this thesis interprets one of the affective strategies—"better teaching through the affective factors". The author conducts a one-year experimental study on teaching strategies in Grade One students in Taicang Senior High School, so as to find out an approach to implement the notion of "better teaching throuth the affective factors".The qualitative and quantitative results show that there has been obvious differences between the two experimental classes within one year. So the author positively presumes that, greater effect will be found with wider experimental scope.
