A Study On The Present Development And Countermeasures Of The Wushu In Fujian Colleges And Universities

Wushu is a traditional sport in China. It is helpful in body-building, competitive games and entertainment. It has played an important role in Chinese history. Wushu Education has a long history in China. It is of great significance to the training of all-round students. The special training results and characteristics of Wushu accord with college students' physical and psychological features, so it has played an important role in college physical education. Since Wushu's entering colleges, it has been very popular among the students. And nowadays it is also popular among all people.Fujian people have paid much attention to Wushu since a long time before. Every festival, there are different kinds of Wushu activities in the cities or towns. Fujian is the original place of the Nanshaolin's Wushu, and now three ruins have been found in Quanzhou, Putian and Fuqin which arouses great attention of people home and abroad. The development of Wushu in Fujian colleges and universities is very important to the whole development of national Wushu. It is meaningful to inheriting traditional cultural heritages, to the development of local economy, and to the body-building cause of our whole people.By means of referring to relative documents, it shows that the research of Wushu in our country mainly focuses on the technical reform, game fields and the other points. But people haven't paid much attention to the advantages of Wushu development in local colleges and universities and the motivation. In order to further its development in the college education, the author carried out questionnaire survey about its present situation.The author carried out the research by means of referring to relative documents, investigating, and doing mathematical statistics, from the 26 study subjects which includes 10 four-year-program universities and 16 three-year-program colleges. From the statistics of the survey, this thesis deeply analyses the Wushu education, Wushu associations, teaching staff, and development impetus in the colleges and universities in Fujian. So.it describes clearly the present development of the Wushu education in Fujian and puts forward some instructive suggestions about the development.The thesis concludes the following features of the Wusu education in Fujian colleges and universities:1. lack of necessary and specific instruction, research and promotion organizations;2. low degree of informatization;3. unreasonable layout of the Wushu items;4. lack of development impetus; Then the thesis puts forwards some Countermeasures:1. establishing specific research and promotion organizations;2. fostering a good circumstance;3. making out reasonable layout of the items;4. strengthening the support and instruction to the campus Wushu groups as well as boosting the combination of classroom activities and extracurricular activities.By these measures, there will be a good circumstance for the Wushu exercise, which not only is in accord with the encouragement of the National Fit-keeping Program and the national calling on quality education to the college students, but also speed the development of campus Wushu activities. This will also make Wushu popular among all the people by college graduates so as to promot the Wushu culture of our great nation.
