The higher education diploma represents the education level of a person, which shows not only one kind of ability but also status symbol. The diploma has the functions of exchanging society advantageous resources and gaining individual income and so on, so it becomes prime motors that the people pursue diligently. Under the different states and society historical perspective, the higher education diploma has displayed its function of"to lever a ton of weight with four ounces of force"incisively. However, with the fast development of diploma education, under the diploma background, the diploma principle favors increasingly fiercely. The higher education diploma expands rapidly because of social need, which actually has created the higher education diploma bloating and causes the diploma depreciation. As a result, it appears high consumption of the talented person, the flood of rough diploma, the drop of diploma confidence level and so on in the society. The diploma depreciation's speed, scale and level also have the tendency that promotes gradually, which has affected healthy development of higher education in China.Here, for the purpose of embarking from our country society's realistic situation, this research carries on the analysis to the current higher education diploma depreciation phenomenon, pursues the reason of diploma depreciation, and discusses the countermeasures that restrains the diploma depreciation in order to cause attention the general scholars to diploma depreciation question, do some foundational work for diploma depreciation's system research and promote sustainable development of our country higher diploma education. This article is divided into four parts: the first part carries on the theory explanation to the diploma depreciation, limits connotation of diploma depreciation, reveals essence and rule of diploma depreciation and analyzes the theory basis of the diploma depreciation; the second part carries on the reality analysis to the diploma depreciation, inspected production and state of diploma depreciation from vertical and horizontal two dimensions, and has carried on rationally reality dialectical analysis to the diploma depreciation phenomenon; the third part summarizes question origin of higher education diploma depreciation according to the present situation of present higher education diploma depreciation in China from the intrinsic and the external two aspects factors; in view of the reasons of which the diploma depreciation, the fourth part discusses experimentally the countermeasures of restraining diploma depreciation from three stratification planes of education, society and individual.
