The Study Of Common Good Education In American Social Studies

This research root in common good education of American social studies , and come back to reflect our own education. This paper have four passage.The first passage is introduction. It introduce the train of thought of this study,and other study about this study,etc. This paper arrange the important documents of American social studies and found that common good is one of the focal points of American education circles, and the core concept of American social studies.The second passage introduce the common good education of American social studies. This paper focus in the concrete activity of class to elaborate the common good education of American social studies, that is , it have clear standard in curriculum, have concrete reflection in textbook, and embody in the teaching activity of class. Lastly , this paper conclude that consult is the main way of American common good education according to many teaching examples .The third passage resolve the critical problem of the common good education of American social studies rooting in the second passage, and explain the background , the basis of theory and the essence of the common good education. That is , its background is the correction of the liberalism , its basis of theory is related with communitarianism—the new theory of civic education, and its political essence is the reflection of American democracy.The last passage is the perspective of Chinese common good education. This paper come back to our Chinese activity after the research of the common good education of American social studies. We should insist on the Chinese special road in Chinese special situation . Chinese common good education should have special content. This paper explain the importance and the perspective to improve Chinese common good education, and plan one examples of teaching about common good education.
