An Analysis On The Taboo Of The Feminine

The term〝taboo〞is used as a substitute for the term〝forbidden〞in the field of International Academic Studies; it is a type of cultural phenomenon in humanity which is extremely complicated and universally existent. Generally speaking ,the taboo is divided into four different sections. Namely, activity taboo ,human taboo,inanimate taboo and language taboo. Especially ,Taboo of the Feminine is one of the main taboos in the field of human taboo.Taboo of the Feminine is completely in conformity with the theory of taboo, namely,the women were recognized as taboo object.On the one hand they are considered lofty,sacred and holy,but on the other they are considered evil and dirty. No matter how lofty and sacred ,or evil and dirty ,all are dangerous. Due to women′s special physiological phenomenon they became taboo object.The Taboo of the Feminine of Tibetan and Japanese Women as well as other ethnic groups of the world,experience a long process from the〝holy〞to〝evil〞. According to its developing histroy, the Tibetan Taboo of the Feminine is greatly influenced by Bonsim and Buddhism . However, the Japanese Taboo of the Feminine is more complicated, it is gradually influenced by the Godism,Buddism and Ruism. Due to different cultural environment and natural conditions, there are many differences in the field of the Taboo of the Feminine between Tibetan and Japanese women.From its appearance until to now ,the connotation of the Taboo of the Feminine has changed gradually. From the terms:〝reverence toward women〞,and〝recognition of women as god〞in the reigon of matriarchy to the terms:〝look down upon women〞,〝despising women〞,and〝recognition of women as evil〞in the reigon of patriarchy. All indicate that the meaning of Taboo of the Feminine has suffered deep and radical change. The essence of Taboo of the Feminine, in short, can be explained by a word:〝fear〞. Namely, the men fears women. The matriarchy lost its position to patriarchy; women left historical stage and resorted to family life,when they depend on men and are a〝third person〞and〝second sex〞according to Male Rights in a male centered society. Doubtlessly,this is the root cause why〝looking down upon women〞became ever more violent.As for women,we should be aware that we are neither〝God〞nor〝Demon〞,but〝human〞. As for men, you should listen carefully to the voice from the inner most part of the heart of the women. In order to get rid of any taboos, we should try to compromise through the fair dialogues between men and women.
