Sociological Analysis On The Transformation Of Feminine Leisure Ways

We have had one third of our time to spend in leisure ever since our country implemented the five-day workweek and carried out 3 long vacations----the Spring Festival, May Day and National Day .We are now entering a generally leisured society. Leisure has already become an equal right that everyone should enjoy. But from a lot of investigated materials, women ,that are half of the population, have differences comparing to men leisure as to leisure forms and possession of leisure time, there is no equal leisure right between women and men , even within women, leisure differences still exist due to different schooling. while revealing the leisure status of women, this thesis not only analyses the surface reasons for limiting women leisure, but also explores the deeper sociological reasons for it, figuring out that it is the traditional culture which has constructed the mode of feminine gender role and shapes their gender self-identities through the process of socialization, therefore their leisure fields are also influenced and many of them even cant think of their leisure rights.Although we now are in the era of knowledge economy, high-tech progresses by leaps and bounds, information industries vigorously emerge, influences from computer network on our social life and the ways we behave deepens day by day and modern Chinese women have had their independent social positions and economic capacities, they even more yearn for the broad world. Comparing to the time before 90's,their leisure forms become various, there comes the new leisure forms of surfing the Internet, body-building, traveling and pets raising, but the proportion ofwomen who could enjoy the leisure life is still very low. Therefore, in order to completely changes the present situation of feminine leisure, we must start from strengthening the feminine main body consciousness so as to breakthrough their self- identities formed under the traditional social structure, thus realizing the deserved leisure authorities for themselves, and displaying their initiatives, creativities and motilities in their leisure activities. In this thesis, self-service traveling is proposed as the effective way to raise femine main body consciousness, and also is the main trend which feminine leisure ways transform. In this process, women could rediscover their selves and establish their main body consciousness through special interactions with others.
