Abstract/Summary:
Process philosophy of Alfred North Whitehead flourishes in the contemporary era. Its influence comes down to philosophy, religion, science and education etc, and it receives more and more world attention. As core category of Whitehead's process philosophy, theory of prehensions demonstrates that the subject is interactive and unified with the object. And in theory of prehensions'view, the world and its nature can be known, understood and interpreted in a dynamic, relatived and three-dimensional perspective.Based on Whitehead's theory of prehensions, this research illustrates that a consideration of the theory of prehensions leads directly to a reflection on education, and argues that theory of prehensions as inclusive of, and conducive to a philosophy of education. From a fire-new angle, this article reviews the essence of classroom teaching: comprehend and create process. Furthermore, the research reconstructs the view of Process Teaching, and puts out teaching principles and practice strategies for stimulating the students to achieve all-round, free and creationary development. Finally, through analyzing several cases, this article explains that"process teaching"should recognize students as superject, emphasize empathy, hold rhythm, and cultivate intuition and aesthetic faculties, and esteem differences, so as to provide constructive advice for our teaching reform and guidance for teaching practice.
