A.N.Whitehead?1861-1947?is a famous British mathematician,philosopher and educator,who established a complex and grand philosophical system called Process Philosophy in the 20th century.Since the 21st century,Process Philosophy has received more and more attention of Chinese scholars.Whitehead's ideas play an important role in various fields,such as education,ecology,ethics,etc.The theory of value is the most important part of Whitehead's Philosophy.The international expert Philip Ross who studies Whitehead also believes:“Whitehead's theory of value is different from Kant's idealism or subjectivism,Whitehead's theory of value tends to realism or objectivism”He broke the traditional value theory of fact and value,the main object of experience structure two presupposition,advocated to interpret the value from the organic whole point of view,to understand the value and meaning from the relationship.Nowadays,the evaluation of university teachers in China is confronted with many difficulties and problems.Whitehead's value theory can solve the problems in the evaluation of university teachers in China.This study seeks to make efforts in this regard.This study is divided into four chapters and the specific contents are as follows:The first chapter is the introduction and it mainly discusses the reasons for the selected topic,conducts a literature review,summarizes research objective and significance and illustrates research methods,research innovations as well as shortcomings of Whitehead's value theory and the evaluation of university teacher respectively.The second chapter discusses Whitehead's value theory,that is,That Other,threefold scheme of This-My-Self and the four dimensions of the value:Truth,Beauty,Adventure and Peace,This part is the focus and difficulty of this study,but also one of the innovation.The third chapter mainly analyzes the existing problems in the evaluation of university teachers in china,mainly including four aspects:in the evaluation mode,to a certain extent,it reduces the academic enthusiasm of university teachers;in the evaluation criteria,it ignores the difference of teachers'spiritual production mode;in the teaching evaluation,cultivating students'wisdom does not get enough attention;in the evaluation system,teachers lack of leisure and freedom,thereby hindering the development of imagination and innovation ability.The fourth chapter mainly discusses the enlightenment of Whitehead's value appeal to the evaluation reform of university teachers in China,mainly including four aspects:the evaluation of university teachers should respect the teacher's subjectivity inherent value and promote the life state of teachers;the evaluation of university teachers should respect the difference of teachers'spiritual production mode,reflecting the dynamic harmonious beauty;the evaluation of university teachers should guide teachers to cultivate students'wisdom and the evaluation of university teachers should promote teachers'creativity and imagination to give teachers the spirit of adventure.This part is the innovation of this research.
