Side attack happens in both sides of the front field, it is one of most important overall attack tactics. Side attack make full use of the width of the field, and opened the opponent's line of defense. There are less defenders than the middle,so it is easy to break through the defense. It is the direction of morden football attack tactics that breaking through the defense by the relative weak point. To become stronger in the world,Chinese football must depend on itself, and know what is going on in the other country, and it has very great practical significance. By using the documentary, video observation statistics, mathematical statistics, and comparative analysis of scientific research methods, the paper analyse the numbers side attack, and the type, the field, the moment it happens ,and finds that: the side attacks are used more frequently in the knockout than in the group matches, but there is no significant difference; in all the ways of side attack ,two players pass through a defender are used most; and personal break through always lead to free kick; right side are used more than left side, and two ribs of the field are used relatively less, but the threat is largest; Passing balls from side to the middle are most in all the ways of passing balls to the middle but the target regions are concentrated. Most balls passing from side are high balls. Asian teams in different areas are different in the frequency and ways of use of side attack, but the target and the nature of the passing balls from side are similar .Compare with first 8 teams ,Chinese football team pass the ball too consentrate in one target, and the way of passing ball are too monotonous, and depond on high balls too much.
