Recreational activities play an important role in people's life. People make use of recreational activities to restore physical strength, cultivate the spirit and compensate for the wear intelligence in order to access to new knowledge and new inspiration to improve creativity. Thus recreational activities are closely related to each person's quality of life. How to enrich everyone's leisure life and develop a healthy leisure habits will directly affect all the people's whole and healthy self-development, and even affect the overall social progress. Therefore, research on the urban people's leisure life is not only the objective need of contemporary economic and social development, but also an inevitable requirement of the comprehensive construction of a harmonious society and a well-off life; it is not only of great economic significance, but also is of great social significance.This study will be presented in altogether six chapters. Chapter one mainly covers the basis of choosing this topic, its research purpose and significance, the research status and results at home and abroad, the methodology of the research and the general characteristics of the research samples. Chapter two makes an empirical description and analysis on several aspects as the choice of Wuhan citizens' recreational means, the choice of their companions, the distribution of public places around, the choice of recreational places, the status of their spare time which can be disposed freely, the expenditure amount of recreational consumption, the scope of taking recreational activities, the purpose of recreational activities and so on. Chapter three mainly discusses the recreational behaviors between groups of different gender, age, vocation, income and education. Chapter four mainly reveals Wuhan citizens' general satisfaction about their recreational status, then in a targeted manner to describe and evaluate the public satisfaction about the recreation which can ease their sentiment, meet the aesthetic need, provide healthy experience, realize the individual value, enable people to get knowledge and cognition, and enhance relations between the groups. Then describes the citizens' awareness and evaluation of leisure living environment. Chapter five generally explores the factors which limit the improving of recreational living standards and the impact of various factors on recreational behavior. Based on the preceding chapters research Chapter six comes to a corresponding conclusion, on the basis of which some relevant policies and recommendations are presented.
