Wuhan is investigated in this thesis. It divides the city leisure space into substance space (leisure supply) and behavior space (leisure requirement), and analyzes the affecting elements in their space layout respectively. Meanwhile, it summarizes their characters and existing problems, finally, gives some innovative suggestion to the leisure space of Wuhan city.The thesis consists of 5 chapters. Chapter 1 lays out the significance and research methods of the thesis, puts forward the analysis frame, and summarizes the key points. At the same time, it gives the status quo in the research of urban leisure in China and abroad, defines the relative concepts about urban leisure. Chapter 2 introduces some relative theories about the layout of the urban leisure space in China and abroad, and it becomes the base of the thesis. Chapter 3 analyzes the affecting elements of development of the urban leisure space from historical humanity and social economy;the development of urban leisure space does not complete in short time. Chinese society is his foundation. To keep the culture and obey the rules of the development of the economical society is his only way. Chapter 4 analyses the layout of the urban leisure in Wuhan. It separates leisure substance space into public leisure space and business leisure space, and analyses the affecting elements of the layout. According to the result of questionnaire, it concludes the space characters of Wuhan peoples' leisure behavior, and analyses the existing problems of leisure substance space and behavior space respectively. Based on the above 4 chapters, the writer puts forward some innovative suggestions about the layout of the city leisure space.
