With the development of different fields in our country such as politics, economics, science, and education, English learning and application become more and more important. And all the students in different grades attach importance to it. For this reason, English teaching in senior high school is regarded as the most important thing, and writing in English is the most difficult task.In order to solve the problem of how to improve English writing skill of the students in Senior Grade Three by combining the theory of second language learning and the law of knowledge acquisition, the writer has done a research on the application of prefabricated chunks in the teaching of English writing.The research has been done in two classes of grade three, which are on the same level. Many problems were found via analyzing questionnaires. According to the problems, prefabricated chunks teaching was applied in English writing teaching, and after analyzing the students'compositions and discussing with the students, teaching methods and plans were adjusted rationally, which in fact is a process of summing up and reflection.Paying more attention to the consistency of language learning and application, the author helped the students in analyzing, understanding, and using prefabricated chunks in English writing, which proved a good method of English writing teaching, hoping to benefit more students especially the students of senior grade three to improve their learning efficiency and writing skill in a limited time and as a consequence, to benefit English teaching.This thesis is constituted by seven chapters.Chapter One: PrefaceChapter Two: Raising the problemChapter Three: Literature ReviewChapter Four: The design of action researchChapter Five: The result of the action researchChapter Six: The experience and inspiration of the researchChapter Seven: ConclusionChapter Two and three are the theoretic foundation and raise the problem. Chapter Four andChapter Five are the most important parts, which are the design and process of the research.Chapter Six and Chapter Seven provide middle school teachers in their actual teaching activities with application of prefabricated chunks and concrete suggestions in developing the students'writing skill.
