On The Cultivation Of College Students' Socialist Core Values Under The Background Of Network Culture

Network culture, a modern culture emerging rapidly along with the rise of information technology, fully embodies the all-round innovations in cultural contents, forms of expression, and means of transmission. Those innovations are not only profoundly changing people's lifestyles, working styles and communicative styles, but also exerting an increasingly profound influence on the values of college students. On the one hand, network culture has acquainted college student with boundless new knowledge, offered them different channels to obtain knowledge and helped them establish correct values. On the other hand, unhealthy Internet information and young people's wrong understanding of Internet conduct have given rise to some Internet immoral acts, which may weaken college students' pursuit for spiritual values, noble morality and the ultimate concern for mankind. All this is bound to have a negative impact on the establishment of college students' values. The nurturing of college students' socialist core values is a concrete manifestation of the determination of higher learning institutions to carry on socialist core value systems. At present, how to effectively cultivate college students' socialist core values under the background of Network culture is a significant task facing the ideological educationists in universities and colleges.The present paper, by means of systematic theoretic reasoning, has made a comprehensive account of network culture and the connotation of college students' socialist core values and analyzed the impact of network culture on college students' values. Based on the requirements for network culture in this respect, this thesis has tentatively made some suggestions for network culture construction in colleges and the cultivation of college students' values. Apart from Introduction, this paper consists of four parts: In the first part, the concept and features of network culture are defined, the relations between network culture and traditional culture are concisely analyzed and the influence of college campus culture on network culture is elaborated. The second part expounds some relevant concepts, such as values, college students' values and college students' socialist core values and discusses the basic contents of the socialist core values system and its significance. In Part Three, from the perspectives of value objectives, value evaluation, value orientation and value fulfillment, this paper has analyzed the characteristics of college students' values under the influence of network culture. The positive and negative influences of network culture on students' values are also discussed. Part Four puts forward some strategies of nurturing college students' socialist core values under the background of network culture. Special emphasis is placed on adhering to the effective combination of "the rule of network by moral" and "the rule of network by law", establishing a harmonious network culture and relying on a trinity educational mechanism of the family, college and society to cultivate socialist core values in university students.
