On The Change And Development Policy Of College Counsellor

In recent years, with increasing attention paid to national ideological and political education of college students, counsellors, as the backbone in ideological and political education of college students, guider and leader on the path of healthy growth for college students, receive more and more attention. Counsellor team building is of great significance in carrying out national educational policies. However, due to various reasons, there are still many problems in the team building, the counsellors' own development, transfer, vocationalization and professionalisation. Therefore, there should be further analysis and research into work system, basic tasks and development policies for college counsellors while taking into consideration of the challenges faced by them in new times and the real condition of college counsellors team and their work..The college counsellor system in China has been in existence for a long time and undergone different development periods. Different historical periods have obvious marks on the major work of counsellors in various times. Therefore, college counsellors'major tasks, positioning and role are remarkably different in different historical periods. With the deepening of reform and opening, the political counsellor system established for political work has had profound changes and development. Now the work of counsellor includes helping the needy, psychological counseling, employment, career planning, interpersonal relationship etc. And there is considerable difference in the work of counsellor between the early stage after founding PRC, the planned-economy times and today. Workload and difficulties in work have been greatly shifted and the way of work has been fundamentally changed.Currently, College counsellor team building and the actual work situation still fall short of people's expectation. In particular, vocational and professional counsellor team still hasn't grown up. Counsellors are facing many challenges. Especially, problems in five aspects including college students' academic study, mental health, personal relationship and emotions, internet and employment bring tremendous challenges and tests to the work of college counsellors. Therefore, we should further promote the vocationalization of college counsellor, establish a college counsellor entry system, establish scientific counsellor training mechanism, improve the college counsellors work incentive mechanism and establish a complete guarantee system for counselor work.
