Since the promulgation and implementation of Basic Education Curriculum Reform(Trial) in 2001,there is a growing tendency these days for many educators to focus on inquiry instruction.After educators' years of efforts and exploration,the study of inquiry instruction has achieved gratifying results and made significant progress which meanwhile play a important role in education and teaching.Practical problems of inquiry instruction were exposed while inquiry instruction has made much progress for the reason of little research on Chinese cultural tradition but the use of western research results.The Chinese nation has nurtured a whole wealth of education and teaching thinking with its long cultural and educational tradition.As an essential part of Chinese culture,the theory of perplexity is also an important tradition of leaning for Confucianism.Therefore systematic study of the theory of perplexity and its influence on inquiry instruction studies will help to continue Chinese local cultural traditions critically and transcend it creatively,in which way we can carefully learn foreign culture in order to serve Chinese education better.This thesis is composed of four parts:Part one:Introduction.This part gives an introduction of this study,such as intention,significance,methods and so on.Part two:perplexity of Confucianism.Part two begins with regularization of exposition of Confucianism on perplexity and examples of Confucius's how to be free from perplexity so as to define the meaning of perplexity and then analyzes how the confucian be free from perplexity.Part three:how the confucian be free from perplexity and Inquiry instruction.Since the procedure of be free from perplexity and Inquiry instruction both spring from question,there is intercommunication between the two.Meanwhile since exposition of Confucianism on perplexity origins from ancient China,theory of perplexity possesses unique characteristics.Part four:inspiration drew from the theory of perplexity to inquiry instruction. Based on the characteristic of the theory of perplexity in Chinese,this part analyzes inspiration given by the theory of perplexity which includes procedure,methods and goals of inquiry instruction.
