Homer firstly offered a conception——fear of success in 1969,which is the opposite notion to the fear of failure.It could also be called as fear of achievement or motivation of escaping from success.This conception is refers to the feeling of fear to one's own success which result from his or her own behavior.Because of the result on one's success may cause a horrible ending,since then instead of facing the problem positively,the individual negatively solve the issue on the similar cases.This conception aroused a widely concern in the field of psychology.It stimulates a series of study after Horner's creative research.The Thematic Apperception Test is used widely as a research paradigm till now.The purpose of this article is to do the further research on the current situation of fear of success among undergraduates which reduce subjective elements effect by using undergraduates' fear of success scale which made by WangQin.It also investigate on the issue of gender role attitude and family device which are the key elements that affect the fear of success and construct the relationship model among gender role attitude,family device and fear of success.Here is the result:(1)The undergraduates whose family device and fear of success at the medium level, their gender role attitude tend to be modern.(2)The fear of success among undergraduates has a notable main effect on different school types and genders.The undergraduates in secondary colleges and third-rate colleges have a distinctly higher fear of success level than the ones in fist-rate universities and training schools.Boys have a rather higher fear of success level than girls.The school type and gender role have a highly interaction on undergraduate fear of success.(3)It has a remarkable main effect on school type and gender role on college students' family device.The secondary college and training school students got higher marks than the other two types and boys' are higher than girls.The school type and students' gender role have a notable interaction in the field of family device.(4)It has a high main effect on gender and school type in the issue of gender role attitude.The male undergraduates tend to be more traditional in gender role than female undergraduates do.The students in the secondary universities tend to act more traditional than the other types of students.(5)Gender role attitude,family device and fear of success are positive correlate to each other separately.(6)Gender role attitude has significant positive prediction effects on the six dimensions of fear of success.It has a good predictive validity on life sentiment.Family device has great positive prediction effects on fear of success.Affective reaction and affective intervening activities are the two dimensions which have significant effects,but a normal predictive validity.(7)Gender role attitude have the mediate effect between family device and fear of success.
