The theoretical formation of any academic disciplines is composed of categories. Category is an important milestone which features the study of this academic discipline has entered rational stage. Category reflects development and maturity level of the academic discipline. It is marked by constituting own category system that educational technology become mature as a academic discipline. Systematically studying and deeply exploring catetories of educational technology has great significance for accelerating scientific process and construction of educational technology. Nevertheless, there are less researchers studying catetories of educational technology currently at home and abroad.In this thesis, the evolution of educational technology categories is reviewed and summarized. On the basis of existing research results, the classification, hierarchy and inherent logic of educational technology categories is discussed. Structure and system of educational technology categories is proposed which are relatively clear, reasonable and tight. As a result, dialogue and communication between theory research and practice of educational technology are promoted and theoretical system is enriched.The ideas and methods of this thesis are as follows. This thesis refers to principles about catetories in logic writing by Hegelian and discusses meanings, characteristics and functions of educational technology categories. By reviewing and reflecting the evolution of educational technology categories, this thesis probes into catetory logic of educational technology categories. According to functions and status of categories in theoretical system, theoretical framework of educational technology categories is proposed. The thesis is made up of five chapters. Chapter 1, overview and meaning of category. Chapter 2, defining meanings, characteristics, functions and research significance of educational technology categories. Chapter 3, review and summary of evolution of educational technology categories. Chapter 4, analyzing and discussing orgin and development, combination and conversion of educational technology categories. Chapter 5, proposing theoretical framework of educational technology categories. In the reseach process, a number of methods is used such as content analyzing, documentary search, history reviewing and comparative research. Documentation indexing is by vitue of CNKI and superstar reader, the traditional papery book are also used as a complementarity.Through systematic research, theoretical framework of educational technology categories is proposed. According to functions of categories in theoretical system, this thesis arrive at conclutions. That is, the starting port category of educational technology categories is education technology and the central category is learning. The intermediary categories include designing, developing, utilization, management and evaluation. The result category is optimizing teaching process and teaching resources. The end category is education performance.
