Wushu is a valuable cultural heritage of Chinese civilization. With a large amount of forms, this event stands at the topmost in world sports. It is no exaggeration that wushu is a valuable national treasure for it promotes eastern sports culture, enriches world culture and maintains the sustainable development of human health. Everything exists for some reason, so does wushu. Wushu possesses many advantages and distinct characteristics. The value of wushu lies in its influences on social development spiritually and physically, which is the symbol of the development of wushu. In Louis Bonaparte's 18 Brumaire, Marx addresses that"Human beings themselves create their own history. In this process, they do not just follow their own inclinations but base on the well established realities directly run into and passed on from history". Wushu is such a natural product. In human's childhood, what they created is a practical form—fighting arts, but not the modern wushu. Competing with each other with all kinds of tactics, fighting arts are widely used by human for attack and defense. Fighting arts, human's means of living and self defense, are the most outstanding feature of wushu. The essence of wushu is a series of tactics made up of Rise, Fall, Creep, Advance, Retreat, Shake, Turn, Kick, Stroke, Wrestling, Capture and Push. Though there are different forms in different periods of wushu, fighting arts just like a lifeline carrying through the history of wushu from beginning to end.In order to meet the demand of creating a harmonious society and culture and also a better environment for the development of wushu, Jiang Zhoucun, who is a professor in Shandong Normal University, proposes"Eight Key Words in wushu Practice". Sparkled by the socialist concept of honor and disgrace and supervised by professor Jiang, I put forward"concept of honor and disgrace in wushu practice". That is"Honor to those who cherish military spirits, shame on those who are lack of morality; honor to those who are dedicated to wushu, shame on those who change about; honor to those who enjoy the pain in wushu practice, shame on those who pursue pleasure; honor to those who work with perseverance, shame on those who give up half way; honor to those who are diligent, shame on those who play tricks; honor to those who practice wushu skillfully, shame on those who act recklessly; honor to those who keep improving, shame on those who confine themselves to a small world; honor to those who seek professionalism, shame on those who dabble."These ideas can be also explained as"morality, devotion, industriousness, perseverance, hard work, skillfulness, improvement, professionalism". These eight simple words, which run through the traditional Chinese cultural system, highly summarize the rules and disciplines in wushu practice from aspects of morality, practice requirements, practice methods and the final aim. In light of Jiang's idea, I will expound this concept in detail in my thesis. These eight words closely related and interacted. The seven sentences including"Honor to those who cherish military spirits, shame on those who are lack of morality; honor to those who are dedicated to wushu, shame on those who change about; honor to those who enjoy the pain in wushu practice, shame on those who pursue pleasure; honor to those who work with perseverance, shame on those who give up half way; honor to those who are diligent, shame on those who play tricks; honor to those who practice wushu skillfully, shame on those who act recklessly; honor to those who keep improving, shame on those who confine themselves to a small world"are based on the last sentence"honor to those who seek professionalism, shame on those who dabble". These concepts are interrelated and supplement each other, which are changeable and relative to"professionalism". With an aim of"professionalism", people who practice wushu must have high"morality"and a strong devotion to wushu, which is the premise of"hard work, perseverance, industriousness, skillfulness, improvement". With a deep love of wushu, people are attracted to it, understand it and have a practice. In this way,"industriousness, perseverance, hard work, skillfulness, improvement"can be achieved.Wushu, which is transmitted by oral imparting with physical instruction, has been listed in the intangible cultural heritage. To protect wushu, I think that the most practical method is that the workers, researchers and advocators of wushu should practice wushu persistently when they make a theoretical research. For the sake of the development of wushu, on the one hand, we should maintain the nature of wushu by inheriting the essential features of fighting arts and constantly absorbing the nutrition of traditional wushu; on the other hand, we should not only make theoretical study but also practice it. The interpretation of"eight-honor and eight-shame in wushu practice"from morality, practice requirements, practice methods and the final aim has a big significance in the development of wushu.
