With the rapid economic development and social progress,as well as people's living standards improve,the state functional departments need and require more from multi-angle,multi-facet on statistical work.As statistical units of the grass-roots level, Beijing Bureau of Statistics of the districts are to collect,collate,summarize basic statistical information,providing in the forefront an important basis for decision-making of leadership at all levels.The quality of statisticians on the grass-roots level as well as their capability,work style,satisfaction with their work situation affect to a large extent the high-performance,high-quality completion of statistical tasks,the construction of a harmonious society,and the achievement of various economic and social development objectives.Thus,carrying out job satisfaction study plays an important role in the management practice of grass-roots statistical units.In this paper,a large number of domestic and international research results related to job satisfaction study are employed.The Beijing Bureau of Statistics in certain district is selected as empirical objects,combined with actual situation of the unit,based on its civil service job satisfaction questionnaire data,SPSS 13.0 analysis software is applied to conducting scale reliability and validity analysis,and One-Way-ANOVA method is applied to analyzing the differences in personal characteristics of grass-roots level statisticians concerning job satisfaction.The analysis results show that such factors as unfair feeling of the pay system,flawed performance appraisal system,unflexible cadre appointment and removal system are the main reasons to bring down job satisfaction of the grass-roots level statisticians.Finally,in accordance with the problems and in light of reality,reasonable and feasible countermeasures and suggestions are put forward, such as,to achieve the fairness of the pay system,the establishment of a sound performance appraisal system,the establishment of the survival of the fittest system for appointing cadres,the establishment of various forms of incentives,in aspiration to improve job satisfaction of the grass-roots level statisticians,thus improving work efficiency.
