The transformed management system of China society emerges from the basic geographical unit of those villiage settlements, and shapes the big community of social living. Schools, as specialized educational institutions within social communities, play an essential role in many aspects such as the spiritual life and culture cultivation of community members.Meanwhile, the development and practice of life-long education and study influenced the educational system of traditional formal schools greatly.The development of the educational system itself also causes some closed school management system to open up, seeking to cooperate with communities and share their resouces and management skills.Currently, China gets some achievements on Community Education and school-community cooperation. However, how the two factors interact, cooperate to solve difficulties and problems as well as related theoretical studies are lagging behind. Practical obsevation, reflection and guidance are also lacking.In order to get a better integration of educational resources and help the education system become more oriented, scientific and effective, a futher understanding of the need for interaction between academic education and community development should be achived. Explore the interaction theory, exchange theory, theory of structure and function, as well as lifelong education and lifelong learning theory to base the theoretical foundation of the interaction between the school and community. It discusses the theoretical fundation of the interaction, based on which the demand for it is stated, and introduces the practices of this kind of interaction in several advanced cities to summarise the problems and reasons on this aspect in China,and a brief introduction and the results on the interaction between schools and communities in United States, Britain and Japan is discussed considering the historical and theoretical development. It reveals the need for the interaction between school and society, its reasons, difficulties and trends from individual to synthesis, from theory to practice and from theory to practice, from the macro to the micro-study. Suggestions on building positive interaction between school and community are proposed, and the basic framework for this interaction is formed in this paper,it promote the positive interaction between school and community .
