《Go for it》has been used in Guizhou Province since September. 2003. The capital city Guiyang is one of the cities where used this book in their schools as a textbook. As a middle school teacher, I have taught students this book for more than six years. Training the reading ability of students is one of the most important duties that our teachers should consider.In our country, English is a second language; most students hardly ever have the chance to communicate with the native speakers in their daily life. Reading can offer them more opportunities to learn English well. But the truth is that middle school students'abilities of reading are not so good. As a result, their marks in English exams are low. How to get a good score in the final exam is our middle school English teachers'challenge.At the very beginning, I think teaching students how to read and choose which articles are more important than get high mark in the exam. But then I found it necessary to make students learn from the articles and enjoy the articles. Good books can nourish them, guide their spiritual thought, setup their correct study view, outlook the values on life and finally cause them growing health. In my thesis there are some experiments and findings in which I take an active part in to solve this challenge.Taking the theory of psychology as the theory base, and following《Go for it》rules, teachers should make the students realize the rules of English language after taking part in some interesting reading. Students will read more and know how to be a good reader. In my thesis, I offered my students my own reading strategy"the combination of limited-time reading and reading twice", in this way, my students get the main points easily and correctly. As for students'spare time, I advocate"new reading suggestion", the aim is to enjoy reading and to be a wise people.I encourage students: We are not the servants of the exams; we are the masters of the knowledge.
