As an outstanding group of Chinese youth,College students are the backbone of our country's prosperity,the qualities of whom largely determines the future and destiny of Chinese people.However,in the current situation,the volition of college students is not good enough and they are quite weak at dealing with setbacks,which indicates that the matter that psychological qualities of college students are generally so weak has become quite serious.The discussion on the function of national defense education to the development of strong volition of college students has far-reaching significances towards guiding them to develop their volition;improving their abilities of dealing with setbacks and helping them have a healthy growth.Currently,the above issue is becoming a matter of concern for more and more scholars.However,among their literatures,there are really few which combine the research of college students' volition quality with that of the effects of defense education on students' volition,furthermore,most of them are still theoretical which lack practical studies and not systematic enough.This study makes an attempt at learning changes of college students' volition quality after receiving the national defense education as well as its influences on both boy and girl student and students of different major via the analyses and comparison of volitional changes of freshmen of year of 2008 at Zhangzhou Normal University between after receiving military training and military theory courses.Thus,it tries to put forward some useful suggestions and measures to improve college students' volition through receiving national defense education.The study is consisted of five chapters.Chapter One is the introduction.Chapter Two is about the formulation of the test questionnaire on the college students' volition.It aims at understanding the status quo of college students' volition through individual interviews.The author refers to the relevant literatures and makes questionnaires to predict contents of the college students' volition.Then through the analysis of the exploratory factor,the author removes some items,revises the scale and then defines four dimensions of the scale.Finally,a formal testing scale will be completed and its reliability and validity will be analyzed.Chapter Three is on the repercussions of military training on college students' volition.According to the two testing results before and after the military training,the author makes analyses and discussions on effects of military training on college students.Chapter Four is continuing to analyze the repercussions of military theory courses on college students' volition.Through the comparison between experimental group and the controlled group,the author analyzed and discusses what effects the military theory course exerts on college students.The last chapter is about the measures and suggestions to enhance college students' volition through the implementation of defense education.In terms of the fact of national defense education and the characteristic of college students' volition,the author clarifies the measures and suggestions about improving their volition through the military training and construction of military theory course.
