The American academics, under the background of big multicultural education, have developed kinds of attribution theories about the academic achievement of minority ethnic students. Thus, this paper summarizes these theories of their historical development process, and makes the comments. Moreover, the author have comparatively analyzed the attribution theories of academic achievement of China and U.S.A, also given some suggestions and solutions on how to learn from America, perfected the attribution research of academic achievement of Chinese minority ethnic students, and lastly promoted their full-scale development.This paper is divided into six parts. Part I, presents the research background, theory hypothesis, its significance and importance, anticipated objectives and research methods. Part II, explains some relevant concepts of this paper as Culture, Ethnic Group, Nation Attribution, Achievement Motivation, Attribution Theory and so on. Part III, specifies and comments the research actuality of attribution theory of Chinese minority ethnic students. Part IV, depicts the theory schools of attribution research of American minority ethnic on academic achievement and their developments. Part V, comparatively and trans-culturally researches the theories of China and America. Part VI, concludes the revelation of attribution research of Chinese minority ethnic on academic achievement and the expectation towards trans-cultural education of Chinese minority ethnic students.The aims of this paper, after researched attribution theory of minority ethnic students of America and China on academic achievement, is to reconstruct the attribution theory of academic achievement which fits Chinese minority ethnic students. The conclusion, the current problems, which occurs in most Chinese schools, is that minority ethnic students confront psychological aberration, and leads to bad academic achievement they have made. The available solution, according to the author's opinions, is to learn from America about the attribution theory of minority ethnic students on academic achievement and develop multicultural education among the students in Chinese schools.
