| Self-confidence and achievement motive that are two important factors in the individual personality structure can prompt personal mental activity and mental development. Taking the perspective of the cultural orientation, and in the view of systematic structure assumption, this study carried out the research on ethnic minorities of middle-school student's relation of self-confidence, achievement motive and academic achievement in Guizhou comparatively complete and systematic with diverse methods. Centered on different research aspects, this whole dissertation composed of six parts.Part One: Document summarization. It synthetically introduces some theoretical and practical researches about self-confidence and achievement motive.Part Two: Questions proposed, research aims and assumption. Based on the document summarization, according to the research thought and theoretical structure, it proposed the problems, research aims and assumptions.Part Three: Tools. This study used the middle-school student's self-confidence questionnaire and achievement motive questionnaire as the main tools. Firstly, the researcher investigated 191 middle-school students for the pretest using the self-confidence questionnaire, then explored and verified its structure model and fundamental dimensions by the means of factor analysis. The results indicated as follows: the structure model of middle-school student's self-confidence consisted of 4 main dimensions and 13 factors, named as the whole self-confidence(synthesis confirmation, total affirmation, negative self), academic self-confidence(main subject, foreign language self-confidence, family members and teachers), social self-confidence (classmates and others, looks and stature, appearance and facial expression) and physical self-confidence(action and figure, health quality, physical activity, handling and creation).
