With the new curriculum implementation and continuously push forward, the status and value of practice disciplines in the curriculum become even more prominent. It has been more deeply aware of interdisciplinary practice had an irreplaceable role in realized ways and the process, emotional attitudes and values, and so on. So, how about the current situation of carrying out the practice of extra-curricular activities in teaching biological subjects in Baotou City, Inner Mongolia? How about the attitude of students and teachers to carry out practical activities? What are the difficulties and problems of teachers in carrying out practical activities. With these questions, the author conducted a comprehensive investigation and study of the situation of carrying out the practice of biological extra-curricular activities among the students in September to November, 2008, in Baotou City, Inner Mongolia. In this study, the author would like to find the best entry point in the research of carrying out biological practice activities, and in order to promote normal development and obtain more reliable information of biological practice activities in Baotou City, Inner Mongolia.After the investigation of more than 860 students and teachers in 14 representative secondary schools in Baotou City, Inner Mongolia, the author found it was necessary to carry out the practice of biological extra-curricular activities to students, teachers after implementing new curriculum in middle schools. However, most schools can not carry out the practice of biological extra-curricular activities. It only carried out 1-2 times each year in better schools. The author further analyzed the main reasons for their produce:First, the management and supervision of educational authorities and schools are not in place; Second, system of teaching evaluation (system of examination) is lagging behind. And the author puts forward his recommendations: Education authorities and schools should actively explore the teaching evaluation system in the context of new curriculum; To enhance the training of school leadership and biology teacher; School Leaders should change in ideas and create conditions in order to carry out the practice of biological extra-curricular activities; School inspectors should set up a complete mechanism and strengthen management in the practice of extra-curricular activities; Fully explore educational resources around the school; Make better use of curriculum resources of community-based and internet to carry out the practice of biological extra-curricular activities.Finally, the author has provided some experience about how to effectively carry out the practice of middle school extra-curricular activities in biology of years of the teaching process for your reference.
