With the aging population increasing, the concerns for the elderly has become common social issues. The rationality and effectiveness of recreation program shows a great quality-image for the elderly's daily life. Thus, the research of outdoor fitness and recreation facilities without additional financial burden for the aging population has become humanistic care and social responsibility.Nowdays,it seems that many kinds of recreational facilities can be seen everywhere in citys while its in sufficency shows a great issure.which is,for example,the security incident,the useless cause by instrument damge,the imperfect of function design,and so on. Thus trying to study existing problems in that area to find a better way to improve and make up for the lack of a systematic method theory become more and more important.In this paper, both from the physical and psychological aspects for the main group of older persons,investigated and analysised their personal characteristics and life-standard needs in their ages to find appropirate goals and ways that satisfied the elderly's expectaion on fitness activities. At the same time, in order to find new innovation -breakthrough for design, sumed up the advantages and the proper aspect for improvement through the various elements of existingproducts and technology.Finally, Pointed out that the city outdoor fitness and recreational facilities should be designed for different age groups. For elderly people, joint flexibility training, relaxation and lower intensity of muscle strength training should be concerned in recreational facilities design,which, provide a reference value in the field of urban outdoor fitness and recreational facilities design.
