The Role Of Example Sentences In English Teaching And Learning In High Schools

The importance of example sentences in language teaching has been widely recognized by a great many linguists and language teachers across the world in recent years. Example sentences have also become a crucial academic topic in the field of linguistics. Example sentences in teaching serve as an influential channel for students' acquisition and accumulation of a language, including a second language. However, the contributive and effective role of example sentences has, more often than not, been deprived of attention in English classes in China's high schools. This justifies analytical and detailed studies of example sentences in English language teaching and learning.To this end, this author intends to study the importance of example sentences with various scientific research methods. A full study of language teaching theories is made in advance to choose some of them as a guide to language teaching, followed by a conclusion about how to teach efficiently with the help of example sentences in daily teaching practice. This study is expected to introduce some workable methods to guide the use of example sentences in English teaching in high schools, with an attempt to make contributions to improving students' language competence with the help of example sentences.
