Work on the students'achievement goals has continued to flourish since the achievement goals originated in the late 1970s and early 1980s with the pioneering work of Dweck, Nicholls, and others. However, in China, we don't have enough researches on relationship among achievement goals,academic help-seeking and academic achievement of pupils based on 2×2 achievement goal framework. Eight hundred and eighty-four 3-6th grade pupils of six primary schools responded to a questionnaire. The present study is to find out the trend of achievement goals and academic help-seeking of pupils in Yinchuan, and to discuss the relationship among achievement goals,academic help-seeking and academic achievement for local education.The result showed that:(1) There was a 2×2 achievement goal framework in pupils'achievement goal in Yinchuan. Pupils got the highest scores on mastery-approach. Most of them used benefits of help-seeking, and over 96% pupils used instrumental help-seeking. (2) Distinctive difference existed between different genders on costs of help-seeking form teachers, executive help-seeking and avoidance of help-seeking. (3) Pupils in Grade 3 got the highest score on performance-approach goal and mastery-approach goal; compared with other grades, pupils in Grade 4 liked to ask for help from classmates, used more instrumental help-seeking and less executive help-seeking and avoidance of help-seeking. (4) Pupils in schools run by the local people and downtown schools wanted high scores more; pupils in public schools got higher score on performance-avoidance goal; pupils in downtown schools were willing to ask questions to teachers; pupils in suburb schools got higher score on costs of help-seeking, used more executive help-seeking and avoidance of help-seeking. (5) Pupils in low-score group used more avoidance goal, costs of help-seeking, executive help-seeking and avoidance of help-seeking; pupils in high-score group used more approach goal and benefits of help-seeking. (6) Performance-approach goal, mastery-approach goal, benefits of help-seeking from classmates could positively predict academic achievement; performance-avoidance goal, performance-avoidance goal, costs of help-seeking form teachers, costs of help-seeking form classmates could negatively predict academic achievement.(7) Performance-approach goal could positively predict benefits of help-seeking and instrumental help-seeking; mastery-approach goal could negatively predict costs of help-seeking, executive help-seeking and avoidance of help-seeking; performance-avoidance goal could attitude and behavor of help-seeking; mastery-avoidance goal could positively predict benefits of help-seeking and instrumental help-seeking. (8) Benefits of help-seeking from teachers could predict instrumental help-seeking and avoidance of help-seeking; Benefits of help-seeking from classmates could positively predict instrumental help-seeking; costs of help-seeking from teachers could positively predict executive help-seeking and avoidance of help-seeking; costs of help-seeking from classmates could positively predict executive help-seeking.
