At present, the "New Curriculum" innovation in China has started in full swing, a series of new materials and new ideas with the various disciplines of the new curriculum standards and the use of a new series of courses and activities in secondary schools as a popular discourse. Old and new ideas are constantly in the collision and confrontation, in order to enable the smooth implementation of the "New Curriculum" innovation, the key lies in the new curriculum for teachers to have a clear understanding and grasp. However, investigations show teachers' understanding of the curriculum beliefs is either superficial, or one-sided or even wrong. This is a direct result of a number of inappropriate classroom behavior.With two English teachers from the same Senior High Schools as the main participants, this study attempts to explore the current situation and the teachers' understanding of the new Curriculum in the context of the new Curriculum Innovation and thereby provide an effective reference for the school-based teacher development during the curriculum innovation. Specifically, this thesis intends to investigate three related questions:1)What kind of influence the New Curriculum discourse has on English teachers' professional life and their practices in Senior High Schools? 2) How can the inflence (puzzlement) be interpreted by using the curriculum theories in post-modernism education? 3) How can teachers promote their professional development in the New Curriculum innovation?In this thesis a case study method ofo the two old and new teachers teaching and teaching behavior did a vertical and horizontal in-depth study of comparative study. The results show that their teaching and classroom teaching behavior is of a certain age and creativity, but at the same time, a certain blindness and unity. In order to change the current situation and improve the teaching result, the following important problems remain to be reflected and settled:1) What is the teaching? What is the spirit of the New Curriculum Innovation? 2) How can the teaching aims be achieved through the teaching activities? What is the proper accessment for the students?...
