It was not until 1990 s that the theory of reflection was introduced to China. Then reflection was heatedly discussed in educational research. At present, with the new round curriculum reform carried out, the demands of high quality teachers are increasing. Teachers doing reflection regularly tend to be more qualified and more professional.Questionnaires and interviews are employed for data collection in the study, intending to reveal current situation of English teachers' teaching reflection in junior middle schools. 114 English teachers are invited to finish the questionnaire. The questionnaires are analyzed from the following four dimensions: reflection attitude, reflection content, and reflection frequency and reflection factor. 8 of the teachers take part in the interview for more detailed information. The results of study are as follows: Firstly, the general current situation of English teachers' reflection in junior middle schools is at a low level and there are no significant differences in teaching reflection among the four different dimensions(Sig>.05). Secondly, there are significant differences on general situation of reflection within teachers of long teaching experiences and short teaching experiences on reflection attitude and reflection frequency. English teachers with 11 to 15 years of teaching experiences perform the best among all these teachers involved, especially on reflection attitude and reflection frequency. Thirdly, as to the teachers with bachelor degree and teachers without degree, there are significant differences on reflection attitude and reflection frequency. The teaching reflection of English teachers without degree is generally better than that of those of bachelor degree except on reflection factors. Fourthly, there are significant differences on reflection frequency between the teachers in urban area and rural area. The reflection level of English teachers in rural area is higher than that of teachers in urban area. What's more, this research provides some suggestions to English teachers in junior middle schools and their professional development.
