A Sociological Analysis On The Involvement Of Power And Capital In The Internet

The Internet has experienced blooming development in China. Especially in recent years, it started to play more and more important roles in economic and social developments, and affect people's life style deeply. Because of that, the academic circle gives increasing attentions to this new thing.The main concern of this text is the process and results of power and capital involved in China's Internet. Whether Internet users (Netizen) can enjoy the right of expression, communication rights, freedom and equality is whether the Internet as people think. At last, this text concluded:the increasing number of internet-users and their speeches and behaviors attract the attention of power and capital; the latter then actively involved in the internet and make themselves interacting with internet-users, which makes all kinds of beautiful ideals people have about Internet difficult to achieve.Furthermore, this text attempts to uncover the deep cause behind this phenomenon. So we follow the clues of interaction process made by the parties mentioned above, select several typical examples, and use the theoretical perspectives of Foucault's "discipline and punishment" and "govern technique" to comprehensively analyze the factors of technology, power, communication and people. The aim of our study is to discover the trend of "governmentalization" in internet so that we can understand this phenomenon more fully, and to prepare for further relevant study in the future.
