Based on the English teaching experience of teaching in a middle school formany years,the authorfinds that many students' writing ability is on a low level, various errors appear inthe writing, among them, lexical errors are prominent, the spelling errors, the confusion ofwords, the collocation mistakes and in some situation, the words don't accord with thelinguistic context or culture background .So it's a practical problem to analyze reasons oflexical errors, to identify errortypes andhow to reduce oravoid errors.The majority of the lexical errors are able to be known and analyzed. The improvementand advancement of foreign language teaching is based on understanding the students'acquiring course, and we can utilize the samples to analyze the lexical errors that appear inthe writing of junior school student, it is exactly an effective way of solving the problem inteaching.This article will focus on the lexical errors, With the guidance of analyzing thesamples ,using the mix method of the quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis to dealwith the lexical errors in the students'writings in arrangement and classification and to findout the law or source of its appearance; we will contrast and analyze the lexical errors in 3school years, by the way of contrast canalization ,to find out the relationship between thelanguage using ability ,the kinds of the errors, and the appearing frequency of the errors.In orderto accomplish the project, the authortracked and collected the samples of juniorschool students of different grades in the same school year 2008-2009, these samples camefrom the writings of exercises, unit tests, mid-term exams and final exams, with the sametheme and the same genre.It shows that when the student's knowledge and learning ability improve constantly, theerrors about the forms of the vocabulary show a tendency to reduce; the frequency producedof collocation errors don't have great changes, but the proportion is quite large in all errortypes;and othererrortypes have the downward trend with the increase of the learning ability.Based on the results of the study above, the author shows some enlightenment ofrelevantteaching, hopes to improve the efficiency of vocabulary teaching.
