Objective:To investigate the prevalence of sub-health status among healthschool students, analyze the determinants of students'sub-health, and provide reference for health-relevant education work.Methods:On January 2010, a cross-sectional study was carried. Using stratified cluster sampling method, selected 18 classes students in a healthschool as the study subject. Pre-constructed questionnaire was used to collect information of demographic characteristics, the family, learning, life style, interpersonal relationship, and off class activity, etc. All data were analyzed with SPSS17.0 software. Chi-square test and logistic regression model were used to analyze the determinants of sub-health.Results:The sub-health prevalence was 49.8%, among which, physical, mental, and social adaptability sub-health prevalence was 13.5%, 39.3%, and 28.5%, respectively. The sub-health prevalence showed significant difference in students with different family economic status (χ2=4.145, P=0.042). There was no significant difference in gender, age, major, grade, parents'professional qualifications, family construct, monthly living expenses, birth in city or countryside, and one-child family or not. Discrimination or disesteem (OR=2.096,95% CI: 1.318-3.336), monotonous life (OR=2.034,95% CI:1.500-2.758), psychological pressure (OR=1.627,95% CI:1.199-2.207), internet addiction (OR=2.362,95% CI:1.248-4.470), and often stay up late (OR=1.620,95% CI:1.047-2.506) were main risk factors of sub-health. Physical exercise (OR=0.595,95% CI:0.415-0.854), outdoor collective activity (OR=0.699,95% CI:0.504-0.970), and regular dining (OR=0.730,95% CI:0.535-0.995) were protective factors.Conclusion:Sub-health problem in healthschool student is prominent. The prevalence is up to 49.8%. Suffering discrimination or frosty reception, monotonous life, high psychology pressure, internet addiction and often stay up late are main risk factors of sub-health. Physical training, outdoors collective activity, and regular dining are protective factors.
