The proportion of investments and outcomes in physical education of Chinese middle schools has been imbalance for a long time, which makes people feel concerned. Among Many factors which affect students'physical learning, preconceptions are important ones. The research of preconceptions has its rise in western science education in 1970s. Preconceptions formed before formal education, which are ideas or beliefs, often relate to daily intuitive experience of students. Some are simple concepts about the objective world, others are contradict with the scientific concepts. With the development and dissemination of preconceptions, some domestic science educators began to pay attention and researched them.Textbooks are the primary means during the process of teaching and learning in modern education. With the encouragement of curriculum reform in China—"a plan with many different versions of textbooks", many versions of physics textbooks are issued during the stage of compulsory education. In order to make sure whether preconceptions are embodied, or how to be applied, the junior physics textbook published by People's Education Press selected as research object, and on the basis of the preconceptions research of home and abroad, the investigation of preconceptions in current textbooks is made, the state of ones is presented, and accordingly some reflections and suggestions about textbook compilation and usage are brought forward.. This survey shows that preconceptions have been taken into account to a certain extent in middle school physics textbooks, and part of ones have been reflected by way of diversity. On the other hand, the aspects of breadth in scope, the diversity of expression forms and the depth of expression yet have to be improved further.
