With the constructivist theory into our country, and gradually aroused greatconcern of the domestic education sector and psychology. Physics curriculumstandards have been promulgated in2001clearly put forward the theory ofconstructivism as the guiding ideology. Physical preconceptions become a hot topic oftoday’s physics teaching and research. On the basis of the results of previous studies, this research using the FCI questionnaire as a measurement tool to investigate thestudents of grade8and grade9in Ka Ping Fifth Junior high school in Dabu County,Meizhou City. The contents of the survey is the formation of middle school students’preconceptions in Newton’s mechanics and gender differences, grade differences andthe differences between the different academic levels. The survey results show that:The vast majority of middle school students’ understanding in Newtonian mechanicsare preconceptions; Before systematic study, the gender differences were notsignificant, the grade differences were not significant, the differences betweendifferent academic levels were not significant; The middle school students’preconceptions in Newtonian mechanics are manifold and complex, but many are alsoconsistency; Traditional teaching methods can not make the middle school students’preconceptions into the correct scientific concepts.
