The Situation And Countermeasure Research Of China College Students In Geology

With the rapid development of economy, the problems we are facing, such as population,resource,environment,ecology. Etc, are increasingly serious after entering 21 centuries. In order to build resource-saving, environment-friendly society, construct an innovative country, there is nothing to be said that the geologists are playing crucial roles in this matter, meanwhile the talented geology majors become the keys to explore,study and solve them. High geology education takes the mission to cultivate geologists of our nation. It is the university that is the major places to train them.In recent years, the government has paid great attentions to the geology trade.However, affected by the social value and the traditional view, part of geology majors only stare at superior cities,research institutions, and would not like to go to the grassroots and work in the front line just because of thought not prepared and lack of awareness of geology works. Moreover, some of the geology graduates without strong ideology can't adjust to the hard geologic work condition.Some even resign or Job-hop while hasn't finished the probationary period. The spirit "proud to dedicate themselves to geology, proud to prospect and to render meritorious service, proud to hard struggle" is fading. Most of the person who sank have flowed away and separated. Thus,it is significant for cultivating future geology majors and developing education management to find their characteristic and commonness,analyze and find the causes by investigating and studying the group status of current geology majors.Through questionnaires, literature review, interviews and other methods to collect large amounts of data and information, according to the basic conditions of geology majors, school tradition, employment awareness and satisfaction of the existing management four aspects, this paper sums up the basic geology majors'characteristics, raise the existing problems and put forward countermeasures and suggestions for improvement by using the SWOT analysis of Management. This thesis is divided into five chapters. Chapter One simply and generally introduces the background, significance, research clues, research methods and research at home and abroad of this study. Chapter Two focuses on the geology industry development, trend, and the employment prospects of geology after graduation, then discusses and analyses the external environment of geology majors. Chapter Three is the survey design, content, process and analysis results of the group status among geology majors in the university, and a summarization of the group characteristic. Chapter Four is to find the problems and analyze them by using SWOT analysis according to the group characteristic. Chapter Five is putting forward countermeasures and suggestions for improvement according to the results of analysis.The innovations are that the students will be subdivided by major to research their commonness, the mode of combining students'management work with students' majors will be raised, and the SWOT matrix analysis method of Management in the analysis of students training and development strategies will be tried.The fruits of this paper is that the group characteristics of geology majors mainly as follows:over press,instability to professional mentality,blindly optimistic on employment,lack of spirit of arduous struggle; Through the SWOT matrix analysis, we can see that the development of geology majors is in a dominant position and a good momentum, hence growth-oriented development strategies should be taken to it. The specific measures are that the government increase input and emphasis, and enhance to combine the education of majors and ideology in the student management, perfect student management system, improve the enforcement of system and so on. However, this study is still very shallow, so in-depth study should be taken any way.
