A Study Of Elementary School Teachers' Epistemological Beliefs And Teaching Beliefs

Belief is an idea exists in person's mind..In the field of psychology,belief is being a higher level of individual cognition.Epistemological beliefs and teaching beliefs are the important rationales of teachers'teaching.The core of teacher's epistemology beliefs is the view that teacher holds on the knowledge.other words,teacher's epistemology beliefs are the view of individual teachers holds on the nature and the way of getting knowledge .The core of teacher's teaching beliefs is the view that teacher holds on teaching.other words,individual teachers'opinions on the nature and the way of teaching and so on.In my study,I want to discuss individual teacher's epistemology beliefs and teaching beliefs.This reaserch will be useful for teachers who are concerning education or working on the first line.During this study,I introduct the developing of epistemology beliefs and teaching beliefs.And I analy and comment many scholars'studies which are talking about epistemological beliefs and teaching beliefs in domestic or foreign.After that,I make primary school teachers as subjects to talk this title.during this study,I sent 200 pieces of questionnaire and recovered 176, the numbers of effective questionnaire is 174, the percentage of effective questionnaire is 87%.After talking,there are several conclusions which are showing as follows:There are significant differences in primary school teachers'epistemology beliefs, because of the difference during the teachers'age, teaching age, and professional qualifications.There are significant differences in primary school teachers'teaching beliefs, because of the difference exist at their sex, age, profession, teaching age, and so on. There is a significant correlation between epistemological beliefs and teaching beliefs.
