With the rapid development of society, principal's influence on the area of educational quality, performance and results of reform is playing a more and more important role. In 2007, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao in his Report on the Work of the Government,promoted educatiors engage themselves in school management, and he encouraged more and more outstanding young people to be life-long educators.Today we are calling out "principals as educator", but what's the meaning of "principals as educator in the Republic of China", and how far are we away from them?This paper focuses on discussing "principals as educator in the Republic of China", Using historical data and knowledge of modern educational management. As so many educators pour into the Republican period,we took two educators Yun Daiying and Lin Liru as example during this period to analyse the feature,the nature of "principals as educator" and calling out more "principals as educator"today. Accordingly, the content of this thesis consists of the following three major sections:The first part of this study is the"basic research".It contains the first chapter and the second chapter.The first chapter introduces the origin of the problem, the meaning and methods of this study and the innovative part.The second chapter is the literature and it is a very basic part in this paper. It offers the "concept ","the literature about principals as educator in the Republic of China"and "the studies on Yun Daiying and Lin Liru".The contents of the literature are more and more spcific.The second part is the "main part",including three chapters.The third chapter contains the background of this study and the teaching and managing experience of Yun Daiying,Lin Liru.Chapter four and five in this part are Yun Daiying and Lin Liru's thought and practice of educational management. It is divided into two parts. Part one consists of principal's target management,human resources management. Part two refers to innovational management and principal's personal integrity and personality.The third part of this paper is the fifth chapter revealing the main point of principals as educator. This part reveals the characters of "principals as educator" and promotes engagement of more and more principals as educator in the future.
