The Civic Education Of College Students In China's Building Of Political Democracy

The report of the 17th congress of the Communist Party of China put forward a new request on building China's socialist democratic politics, and pointed out clearly that first of all to "expand people's democracy and ensure people are the masters." Second, we should "actively promote the building of inner-party democracy." The report made a very clear idea on the development of socialist democratic politics, which is, focusing on grassroots democracy. New requirements for participation in the main body of socialist democracy the citizens and political qualities put forward higher requirements. So citizenship education and raising the civic consciousness of everyone in the community, establishing a socialist democracy and rule of law, freedom and equality, fairness and justice concept, which is an important support to expand people's democracy and an important support to develop socialist democratic politics. This special group of college students is the main body in practice of China's socialist democratic politics. It is an important promoting role to enhance students'citizenship and provide a good model training effect on our democracy.In this paper, the current presence of civic awareness of Chinese university students was studied, and the reasons that general civic awareness of China's university students is not strong were synthesized.
