With the development of information technology and the permeation of computer network, online collaborative learning has become an important way of learning. This kind of learning method, not only makes the learners study flexibly according to their own learning, but also fosters the sense of collaboration and teamwork of learners. However, through literature study, we find that there are some phenomena about the online collaborative learning, such as caring more about resources than activity, caring more about results than process, caring more about independence than cooperation. This leads to the poor motivation of learners, and has influenced the effect of online learning. Therefore, how to design effective online collaborative learning activities to promote the effect of online learning, has been the hotspot in the education research at home and abroad.By analyzing the current questions of online collaborative learning activities, this study put forward five principles of designing online collaborative learning activities; and designed online collaborative learning activities from three aspects that is the theme, the process and the evaluation; from the perspective of learners we brought forward six basic steps about the implementation process of online collaborative learning activities, that is Warming, Individual learning, Group topics, Division of tasks, Group collaboration, and Evaluation activities. Finally, taking an online course named "Educational Technology" as an example, we practiced the designed activities, and it had proved the validity of the designed online collaborative learning activities and the practice.
