Design Of Video Signal Generator Based On USB Technology

Nowadays, with rapid improvement in ASIC, computer technology, measurement and image processing fields, personal computer technology has reached a rich and colorful multimedia age. Especially in recent years with quick spread and increasing capability of PC, it has become one of the most important tools. Many traditional instruments have evolved into PC peripherals. Their varied and complex processing and controls are competed by PC. However extensions of peripherals are restricted by PC limited resources of I/O (such as DMA, JRQ and I/O address), interfaces and slots. Universal serial bus (USB) has solved this problem. USB have two main merits comparing with traditional bus. One is that USB supports up to 127 physical devices. The USB physical interconnect is a tiered star topology. The other is that USB supports real plugndlay. In any condition we can hot plug the USB physical.Author of this article researched whole USB technology and made a USB solution for PC Data Collection System, Virtual Lab System and Virtual Instrument System.
