Editorial has always been honored as the banner and the soul of me- dias, and been attached great importance by all the society. However, the readers of editorial are gradually reducing nowadays. This reduction warns that editorial writing does not keep pace with news reform. Thus improve- ment is in sore need. The key target of editorial reform is to enhance its readability. There- fore, in the light of several leading problems that affect the editorial reform this thesis attempts to discuss about the editorial reform form the follow- ing six aspects, in the hope of attracting more readers and giving full play to its role: 1. Try to make it accessible to the mass. 2. Enhance its effectiveness. 3. Enrich its forms of expression. 4. Shorten it. 5. Adjust its amounts. 6. Set a lively intimated style of writing.
