This article explain why and how to develop the remote network configuration and controlling tool.Telnet is one of the most classical and the most powerful remote network configuration and control tool. Telnet protocol provides one of the important ways to transfer data and control information on the Internet that set up on a lot of different kinds of platforms. This article focus on suggestions to existing telnet tools and developing a software called RCC (Remote Costumed Control Tool) to satisfy daily network managements and maintains by convince, costumed ways.First of all, we discuss some basis concepts and ways of network management. And we point out reasons why the stereotyped telnet tools exist by introduce shortcoming of the other network management tools. We also claim the aim of RCC tool that we'll focus on. The development of similar tools in the domestic and the world was discussed, too.Secondly, we talk about some basis theories and concepts that we need to design the RCC. IT includes three main points. Firstly, we explain main concepts, transport control protocol and command format used in telnet protocol. Secondly, we talk over security problem in the telnet protocol. Thirdly, we introduce programming of socket. At last we discuss why we take Visual C++ as the programming environment.Next, we discuss how to design the RCC in brief. In this chapter, we explain how to design the RCC and structure of RCC. We also discuss programming of RCC. The key techniques and method of the main modules including remote access module and costuming module are discussed in detail. The other modules are talked about in brief.Then we introduce something about RCC when we test it. And we introduce some new developments in the network management and analysis the foreground of telnet-type tools. In this chapter, we also point out some shortcomings that telnet-type tools have and how to improve it in the future.
