According to the shortage of freshwater both with the enhancement of environment protection, the importance of wastewater treatment is becoming more and more obvious. Now, the Activated Sludge Process, a kind of wastewater treatment with complicated mechanism, non-linear and varying, has been extensively utilized in the industrial and municipal wastewater treatment. In order to improve the running result, we should first know about the mechanism model, and then upbuild the advanced real time auto-control system in wastewater treatment plant.Currently, all researchers have focused their all energy on the ASM1 of IAWQ, and almost nobody have paid any energy on the following model ASM2, in which the remove of Phosphorus is included. Because of the absence of Phosphorus Removal, ASM1 has obvious limitation and it prevents ASMl's farther development, especially in now days of more attention put on the remove of Phosphorus. Just for this, we should pay more attention on the research of ASM2, build the suitable model for factual technics, and put it into actualize on wastewater treatment plant.The main contributions and research work are as follows:1. Analyzes the necessity of wastewater treatment and the status of wastewater treatment in our country. Comparing with the other country, points out the development trend for wastewater treatment in our country.2. The development of mathematic model and control strategy in activated sludge process are reviewed detailed.3. Introduce the principle and process of activated sludge process, and make detailed introduce for it's typical technics(A/O); then expatiate the selecting standard for technics of wastewater treatment plant.4. In order to simplify the complex of the ASM2, we give some assumes((1)the concentration of S02 is 0 in the anaerobic pool and big enough in the aerobic pool; (2)the pH in the pools is in the rang of 6.3~7.8, which is a limitation of ASM2; (3)ignoring the infection of SAlk; (4)the separation of solid and liquid in the final pool is completive.). Then we build the simplified ASM2 model based on A/O technics and do some simulations. These simulations include the stability analysis, and dynamic variety while the influent and the feedback coefficient are variety.5. An auto-control system project used in wastewater treatment plant based on Ethernet and PLC is introduced; and for the pumping station, using dynamic programming ideology, builds a model with the least running-time optimization goal, and introduces the software realization using PLC.
