Bluetooth is a wireless communication technology with low power dissipation and close quarters. As open standard for wireless data and voice communication, Bluetooth's goal is to substitute for the wires of existing devices such as PC, printer, mobile phone and so on. At present Bluetooth SIG(Special Interest Group) including many famous IT and communication Corporations has already produced some Bluetooth products .As a representation of open source, Linux's function and performance are excellent. This paper is to design a Bluetooth protocol stack based on embedded Linux.Linux developing kernel can give support to Bluetooth now, including many new-increased functions and other functions without test. In order to shorten development cycle and enhance work effectiveness, we adopt Linux official protocol as the work basic and our task is to simplify, enhance and improve the official protocol according to actual needs.Bluetooth is a part of Linux kernel, and its position in Linux system structure is similar to TCP/IP. So this is a system level analysis and design with complexity.Considered Host Controller Interface(HCI) capability represents the realizable functions of Bluetooth technology, so this paper chooses HCI as the key to analyse Bluetooth protocol. Directing HCI protocol we have flow analysis and HCI design, and describe framework of Bluetooth protocol stack. At last, we test our designed protocol, which reaches our prospective effect.
